Refund Policy

Automatic refunds

If we can't read your pages, or something goes wrong and we can't finish your order, you are refunded automatically to your original payment method for the amount you paid, including any sales tax, and any credits you used go back to your account. Refunds usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.

Wrong answers

If an answer is wrong, email us within 7 days of your order with your account email and the order date. We'll review it and either correct it or refund the order.

Other requests

Because answers are delivered instantly, we don't otherwise offer refunds once an order is complete, except where required by law.

Tutoring

Your $10 deposit is refunded automatically if we can't find a tutor (we stop looking 12 hours before your requested time, or 3 days after you book, whichever comes first), or if you cancel before your session is confirmed. After you pay the balance, you may cancel or reschedule for a full refund by contacting us at least 24 hours before the session. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the session, or missed sessions, are not refunded, because your tutor is paid for the time they reserved for you. If your tutor misses the session, you'll receive a full refund.

Written tutoring

If no tutor takes your written tutoring assignment within 48 hours, or our safety check can't send it to a tutor, you're refunded automatically. You can cancel for a full refund before a tutor takes it. Once a tutor has answered, written tutoring isn't refundable, except where required by law; if something went wrong, email us within 7 days and we'll review it.

Research coaching

If you need to cancel a research project, contact us. We refund any coaching hours that haven't been started. Completed phases are not refundable.

Purchases made in our apps

If you paid in the Homework Dash app for iPhone or iPad, Apple handles refunds: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you paid in the Homework Dash app for Android, refunds are made through Google Play and go back to your Google Play payment method. The rules on this page decide when a refund is owed; Apple and Google decide how it reaches you.

Homework Dash Plus

Free daily assignments that we can't complete don't use up your free assignment for that day. You can cancel Plus anytime in My Account. You keep access until the end of your current paid month and won't be charged again. We don't refund partial months, except where required by law. If you switch between Plus and Plus Ad-Free, the difference for the rest of the month is added to or credited on your next bill. If you were charged for a renewal you didn't expect, email us within 7 days of the charge and we'll refund it if you haven't used chat since the renewal. Members whose accounts are suspended or closed for breaking our rules are not refunded. Renewal is paused during a suspension and canceled if the account is closed.

Extra tutoring time

Extra time ($14.99 for 30 minutes) is charged when you add it. If your payment goes through after your session has already ended, it is refunded automatically. If your tutor ends paid extra time early, contact us and we will refund the unused time.

Chat Passes and rule violations

Chat Passes ($0.99) are used right away and are non-refundable. If your Study Chat access is suspended or your account is closed for breaking our Community Rules, you will not receive a refund for Homework Dash Plus, Chat Passes, or anything else.

Advertisers pay only after their ad is approved. If we decline an ad, you aren't charged. Refunds for paid ads are covered in our Advertiser Terms.

Canceled checkout

If you leave checkout before paying, you are not charged. Your order stays saved in My Account so you can finish later.
