Study Chat Community Rules

Effective October 17, 2026. Homework Dash is owned and operated by Geek Passions LLC.

Study Chat is part of Homework Dash Plus. These rules keep it safe, useful, and friendly. By joining, you agree to them and to our Terms of Service.

1. You must be 18 or older

Study Chat is only for members 18 and older. If you tell us you are under 18, chat is locked on your account permanently, even if you subscribe. Giving a false age is a violation of these rules and our Terms, and we will remove your access without a refund.

2. No contact information. Ever.

Do not share, ask for, or hint at personal contact details, including:

• Email addresses (including "name at gmail dot com" and similar)
• Phone numbers (including spelled-out digits)
• Social media usernames, messaging apps, gaming tags, or links
• Home addresses, school names with class schedules, or other location details
• Your real name, or anyone else's

Our system automatically checks every message. Messages with contact information are blocked and count as a warning.

3. Learn together, don't cheat

Help each other understand problems. Do not offer to complete graded work, take tests or quizzes for others, or sell or buy answers. Follow your school's rules and our Academic Integrity Policy.

4. Zero tolerance for hate and abuse

Study Chat has zero tolerance for racist, hateful, or abusive language. That includes:

• Racial, ethnic, and other slurs, in any spelling or disguise
• Profanity and vulgar or sexual words
• Insults and name-calling, such as calling someone stupid or dumb
• Harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, sexual content, nudity, or graphic images
• Spam, advertising, selling, illegal content, or pretending to be staff or someone else

Our system blocks these words automatically. If you see racism or abuse, don't argue back. Flag it, and a moderator will step in.

5. Aliases, files, photos, and GIFs

Everyone in chat appears by the alias they chose at sign-up. Never share your real name or anyone else's. You can attach PDF or text files of study material, up to 10 a day. Every file is checked before others can see it. Photos can't be posted in chat. GIFs from the built-in GIF button are allowed; they're limited to PG content, and you can flag any GIF that breaks these rules.

6. Warnings, suspensions, and account removal

• Slurs: an automatic 10-day suspension from Study Chat.
• Other blocked messages (banned words or contact info): each one is a warning. 3 warnings within 30 days means a 10-day suspension.
• Flags: when moderators confirm a flag, the member is suspended for 10 days.
• After a suspension: one more confirmed violation suspends your whole Homework Dash account while we review it, and it may be closed for good.
• Serious violations (threats, sexual content, anything involving minors) lead to immediate removal and may be reported to law enforcement.

We let you know about every suspension or account closure by email and in Messages. Suspensions and account closures for breaking these rules do not qualify for a refund of Homework Dash Plus, Chat Passes, or anything else. Moderators may remove any message or member at their discretion.

7. Room size, time limits, and Chat Passes

• Each room holds 100 members. When a room is full, a Chat Pass lets you in, up to 200 more members.
• When more than 100 members are in a room, slow mode turns on: each member can post once every 20 seconds so everyone can read and reply.
• You get 3 hours in each room per day, counted while the room is open on your screen. We'll remind you before your time runs out.
• A Chat Pass costs $0.99 plus any sales tax. It adds 3 hours in every room and opens full rooms for you until midnight Central time that day. Chat Passes are non-refundable.

8. Flagging

Tap Flag on any message that breaks these rules and add a short comment if you like (100 characters). Moderators review every flag, including what the member posted that day and the day before. Messages with several flags are hidden until a moderator reviews them. For urgent safety concerns, contact support@geekpassionsllc.com. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.

9. Privacy and safety

Chat is shared with other members, so never post anything private. Messages are deleted automatically after 90 days, or right away if you delete your account. Other members are not verified by us; never meet someone from chat in person or send money. Opinions in chat belong to the members who post them, not to Geek Passions LLC, and answers from other members may be wrong.
