Privacy Policy

Effective October 29, 2026 ยท HomeworkDash.com is owned and operated by Geek Passions LLC.

This policy explains what information Homework Dash collects, how we use it, and your choices. Homework Dash is run by Geek Passions LLC, which is responsible for your information. If our business is transferred to a related company or successor (such as a company named Homework Dash LLC), that company will be responsible for it under this policy.

Information we collect

How we use it

How we share it

Study Chat is shared: your alias and messages are visible to other Plus members in that room. Your email is never shown to other members. Tutors and coaches see only what they need to help you, such as your name or email, your request, and your messages. We share information only with service providers that help us run Homework Dash: our secure cloud hosting provider, our payment processor, and the AI service provider that reads your uploads, our email provider, our video and transcription providers (part of our secure cloud hosting provider), and GIPHY, which provides the GIFs in Study Chat (GIF searches go through our servers without your email or alias, and GIF images load from GIPHY, which may see your device's IP address). These providers may use your information only to provide services to us, and our AI provider may not use your uploads to train its models. We may also share information when required by law, to protect the rights, safety, or property of our members, team, or company, or to enforce our Terms.

Statistics that don't identify anyone: we may share totals and trends, such as visitors per day, traffic by time of day, device mix, member and subscriber counts, and ad results, with advertisers, investors, lenders, partners, and others we choose. These statistics never include names, emails, or other information that identifies you.

Business transfers: if our business is transferred to a related company or successor (including a company named Homework Dash LLC), or is part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of it. The receiving company must protect it as this policy describes.

We never sell your personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising across other companies' sites and apps.

Cookies and browser storage

We don't use advertising cookies or third-party tracking tools. We store a few things in your browser so the site works: your sign-in, which ads you've already seen today, and the random number used for visit counts. You can clear these anytime in your browser settings. GIF images (from GIPHY) and Google or Apple sign-in buttons load from those companies when you use them.

Job applicants and team members

If you apply to work with us, we collect the information in your application, including your date of birth (to confirm you are 18 or older), where you live, your school, year, major, and internship track if you apply for an internship, your teaching experience, your resume, and any credentials you upload (such as a teaching certificate, license, degree, or transcript). We use it only to review your application and to decide which work to offer you. Applications are deleted automatically after 1 year unless you join the team. Background checks are run by a third-party screening provider under its own disclosures, and we receive only the results.

If you join the team, we also keep your signed contractor agreement (with the date, time, and internet address of your signature), your tax status form if you live outside the United States (Form W-8BEN information, which only the owner can see), your training progress, the offers you accept or pass on, your work and pay records, the minutes you are signed in to the dashboard each day, and notes about your work. Bank and U.S. tax (Form W-9) details are collected by our payment processor, Stripe, not by us. We keep these records for as long as the law requires for tax and business records (generally at least 4 years after you stop working with us).

For team members we also keep: Team Chat messages, including private messages between team members (kept 2 years and readable by the owner); team meeting details and, when a meeting is recorded, its recording (deleted automatically after 90 days); and a record of every action taken on the dashboard (kept 3 years). Moderators and interns receive perks on the member account that uses the same email address as their team login, so we match those two accounts to apply the perks.

Ads and advertisers

Homework Dash shows a small number of ads on our website and in our apps, including ads from other businesses. Ads are chosen by date, time, and whether a visitor has Plus, not by personal information. We count how many times each ad is shown and clicked, and advertisers receive only those totals, never who you are. We remember on your device which ads you've already seen today so you don't see them again. Plus Ad-Free members don't see ads, and accounts for students under 18, and visitors who aren't logged in to the app, see only Homework Dash's own ads. Businesses apply and pay on our website using a Homework Dash account, and give us their company and contact details, tax or registration number, and the person who signed, which we use to verify them, process payment, keep business and tax records, communicate about their ads, and show them their ad history, views, and clicks in their account. Payment is handled by our payment processor.

Sign-in protection and account recovery

To protect accounts, we record sign-in attempts, including the network address and device type of failed attempts. If you add a backup email or security question, we use them only to help you get back into your account. Security answers are stored scrambled so no one, including us, can read them. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from them.

Notes and records on member accounts

Our team may add notes to your account about your requests, messages, or rule violations, and records of any suspension or account closure. We also keep a record of the actions our team takes on accounts, for quality and security. Notes and records are visible only to the Homework Dash team. You may email us to request a copy of your information, including these notes.

How long we keep it

Children and minors

Homework Dash is not a children's service and is not for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if you believe one has an account, contact us and we will delete it. Students ages 13 to 17 may use Homework Dash only through an account created and managed by a parent or guardian, who can view the account's activity, request a copy of its information, or delete it at any time. Minors cannot use live video tutoring or Study Chat. Written tutoring messages are saved for safety and to review reports.

Your choices and rights

You can view your history in My Account, delete some of your data while keeping your account, or delete your account at any time, in the app or on the website. See Delete Your Data for the steps and what is kept. You can also email us to request a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, which we will honor; we'll confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we won't treat you differently for using your rights. Because we don't sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, there's nothing to opt out of, but you can email us with any request.

Security

We encrypt information in transit and at rest and limit access to it. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password.

Changes

We will post updates here with a new effective date and notify you of significant changes.
